Senior Vice President
Certara
In her current strategic role, Dr. Rowland-Yeo brings visionary thought and leadership in broadening applications of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and simulation to enable evidence-based individualized dosing recommendations for therapeutics. She currently leads the charge to garner acceptance of PBPK modeling in special/vulnerable populations and extend the approach to global health scenarios. Prior to her current role, Dr. Rowland-Yeo was the Head of PBPK Consultancy Svcs at Certara UK Ltd (Simcyp Div; 2015-2019) where she built and subsequently led a strong core team of scientists engaged in consultancy projects relating to the application of PBPK modeling in the drug development process. In this role, she drove development of best practices and worked directly with global regulators to gain acceptance of PBPK models, increasingly raising the bar in innovation and quality. The products of Dr. Rowland-Yeo’s work have directly informed risk management and optimal dosing guidelines for the safe and effective use of over 50 approved drugs across therapeutic areas in diverse patient populations and clinical contexts of use.
Prior to joining Simcyp in 2002, she was a lecturer of clinical pharmacology & therapeutics at the Univ of Sheffield. Dr. Rowload-Yeo holds a PhD degree in Drug Metabolism from the Univ of Sheffield with a research focus in translational & experimental clinical pharmacology, as applied in studies of CYP2D6 and associated drug interactions. Following this, she pursued postdoctoral research as a Leukemia Research Fund Fellow. Throughout her career, Dr. Rowland-Yeo authored/co-authored more than 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of clinical pharmacology, drug metabolism and drug-drug interactions and gave more than 20 invited presentations and lectures. She serves as an Associate Editor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics: Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology, Chair of the Quantitative Pharmacology Network of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and Vice Chair of the Scientific Program Committee of ASCPT.
