Ahmed A Abulfathi, MBBS, MMed, FCCP(SA), PhD.
Ahmed is a joint University of Florida and GSK Post-doctoral Research Associate. With a deep passion for advancing science to improve global health through quantitative clinical pharmacology, Ahmed brings vast experience in managing medical inpatients and outpatients, along with strong background in clinical research including clinical trials.
Over the past 5 years, Ahmed has immersed himself in pharmacometrics analysis, providing valuable insights into the optimizing existing therapies and the developing new ones. Notably, Ahmed introduced model-informed precision dosing at patients' bedside at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. This approach empowers clinicians to maximize drug efficacy while minimizing toxicity, ultimately benefiting our patients.
Ahmed is an alumnus of the Novartis/University of Basel Next Generation Scientist program, Certara Applied Pharmacometrics Training program, and a recipient of many awards and scholarships including EDCTP PanACEA postgraduate scholarship, Chevron/NNPC, HD Brede Awards, etc.
Ahmed enjoys networking, continuously acquiring new skills, and sharing his knowledge and experience with others.
