Symposium 1: Dose Individualization of Biologics to Improve Patient Outcome: A Joint ACCP/EACPT Symposium

The target audience for this Symposium includes PharmDs, MDs and PhDs seeking tools to best optimize the dosing regimens of biological drugs for individual patients across the lifespan.

Goals & Objectives:

Following the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:
  • Describe basic pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic principles that underlie the disposition of biologics and dosing regimen calculations in specific diseases and special populations;
  • Identify cases in which computer interfaces could be used to bring model-informed regimen design to the patient bedside;
  • Describe informatics-based approaches to predicting optimal drug dosing regimens based on population models and patient-specific characteristics that influence exposure-response relationships of biologics.
